Bldg 2, Marine Chambers, Plot No 39, Vithaldas Thackeray Marg, near Liberty Cinema, New Marine Lines, Marine Lines, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400020, India
Stumbled upon this gem of a place while visiting Metro cinema. Had one of the most unique and flavorful curry I've had in Mumbai. Had ordered Surmai thali and Bombil thali. The fried Bombil literally melts in the mouth. The Surmai quantity felt a little less compared to other places, but none of them could beat this place in the taste department. The curry is unique and very tasty. It wasn't to spicy, not too bland either, just the right amount of zing and flavor. It didn't overwhelm the taste of fish rather it complimented it quite well. The thali was well prepared and tasty, loved the coconut laddoos and sol kadhi. Would totally recommend the Bombil thali here. Haven't had the opportunity to try other items here, but given their curry, I'm pretty sure they are going to be awesome. I'm both happy and sad that they don't have more branches. It helps them preserve the uniqueness and taste.
Location: behind metro masjid, near liberty cinema. Nearest station Marine lines (wr) Pocket sized dynamite... Ended up here very unexpectedly.the food is a mood lifter.. Try any of their thali versions..chicken mutton fish with rice bhakri. A full mutton/chicken handi is good enough to serve 4. Menu is decent..lot to choose from... Good attempt to bring d vidharbha varhadi style food on plate.. Small place but great food and pretty reasonably priced..costs about 300 per person... Worth a visit.
Cute place in downtown Mumbai with delicious food. Chef Nadim took great care of us. His kindness, passion and care about his food made us believe we were in the right place. Definitely a must go to whoever wants to try traditional East Maharashtrian food.
Staying in this area and looking for some good Maharashtrian Food and Google suggested this place. The owner was a chef himself in many famous hotel chains. He suggested some dishes and we love each of them. I definitely recommend you to try this small place if you are a tourist but be a little mindful about your tolerance level of spicy food.
Hidden Gem for Authentic Maharashtrian Flavours! While exploring the area, we stumbled upon this cozy little spot—thanks to Google—and what a find it turned out to be! The owner, a seasoned chef with experience in renowned hotel chains, personally recommended a few dishes, and every single one was a hit. Bursting with bold, traditional flavors, the food truly captured the essence of Maharashtra. If you're a tourist craving something local and soulful, this place is a must-try. Just a friendly heads-up: the spice levels are not for the faint-hearted, so know your limits before you dive in! ?️✨
