Been coming here often for a quiet lunch and I do order delivery at times which is delivered fast and always packed well. The place has indoor and outdoor seating, and you order via the self service kiosks in front of the restaurant. The restaurant design is a diner style concept with an orange light that sometimes I feel is too heavy/reddish for the atmosphere to come off as chill. The cushion seats do get a little itchy if you are wearing shorts and sitting on them, not sure if it’s cause of the material or if they need to be cleaned a little better (no visible dirt though they look clean) Food wise everything is great, there is a huge variety to choose from, from soups to salads to burgers and western mains so take your time browsing the menu! I personally enjoy the Tokyo chicken stew or chicken mushroom ragout on cold rainy days, and their mushroom or tomato soup for a vegetarian fix! I like that their Caesar salad comes with sun dried tomatoes, croutons and a little sprinkling of cheese and that the leaves are well dressed (and not just the sauce drizzled on them). I added smoked salmon to mine! You can request for no bread if your meal is too much, and you can save 30cents dining in. Drinks wise I enjoy the hibiscus tea for a refreshing caffeine free time. Place is usually crowded at your usual peak hours, however you’ll still be able to find a seat. It is a little more empty and quieter at off peak hour times like 2-3/ 4-5pm for late lunch or early dinner. Staff are usually very busy preparing orders and very quick in serving quality food which I appreciate as it is a lean team without a lot of staff, they could do with one or two more. Staff there also are quite attentive to keeping the sauce and pepper station clean for customers to use, however struggle to clean up empty trays left on the trolley when it is peak period which is understandable due to the small manpower. I just wish the lighting wasn’t so orange but overall I enjoy my meals here ! Thank you !
Awesome chicken breast not too try, well flavoured with herbs, and love the steamed broccoli ?? served with nuts and spices. $11 for set meal comes with fries and drink. Well balanced ???
? The Soup Spoon Union Blk 480, Lorong 6, Toa Payoh Central ( HDB Hub) #01-17, Singapore 310480 ????? This is our regular go-to Soup Spoon Union cafe for good quality mushroom soup. ● I usually don't dine in there, because I live nearby in Toa Payoh East. Thus, I frequently buy their Mushroom Stroganoff soup as takeaways. ? I have been eating this mushroom soup from the time they had their first shop at Raffles Place MRT station basement. That was like 16 years ago. ? I really like the uniquely earthy and creamy flavour of Soup Spoon's mushroom soup. ?This comforting mushroom soup can be eaten as an enticing appetizer by itself or as a stand-alone dish with chunks of bread. ❇️ Their savoury mushroom soup is thick, creamy, rich and chockful of assorted slices of mushrooms. Every spoonsful you sip is full of umami-laden mushroom broth. ?️ When I buy their packet Mushroom soup home, I either add julienned cucumber to it or eat it with soft toasted bread. Either way, it always tastes like a delicious bowl of homemade goodness. ? Service at the Toa Payoh Central HDB Hub outlet can be improved. Sometimes I feel that the staff are lacklustre in attitude. They need to be more customer-oriented. ?? I say this because I am a long time customer of Soup Spoon & I want to see a local business succeed.
