Top Floor, 116 C, behind UCO Bank, Shahpur Jat, New Delhi, Delhi 110049, India
Potbelly Rooftop Café is a bit of an adventure before you even sit down—it’s four floors up with no elevator in sight, so if you’re not prepared for a climb, it can feel like a workout. Once you make it, though, the rooftop setting is worth it for the relaxed, quirky atmosphere. I tried the phataka French fries, which was a pleasant surprise—a Bihari twist on the classic chili potato, packed with flavor. The Maithili thali offered an array of traditional dishes, but I have to admit, it wasn’t quite my cup of tea. I think that’s mostly because I’m new to Bihari cuisine, so the flavors were different from what I’m used to. The aam panna was refreshing, a good cooler for the Delhi heat. Overall, the food is good, just not quite aligned with my personal tastes—but that might change if I get more familiar with the regional cuisine. Definitely a spot for those who enjoy discovering something off the beaten path.
We are Australian tourists visiting Delhi and were recommended this restaurant, and we had the best dinner here. The food was amazing, in particular the Pakora and the Masala chai. The service and ambience were also lovely - the staff were so welcoming and accomodating of us. We’ll definitely be back!
