Service from the head waiter was excellent but with the regular staff can be a little bit hit and miss. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food considering the reasonable price. Enjoy the food, take a stroll out on the balcony and enjoy the marvelous sea view.

Had a chance to try out the food here at The Captain's Restaurant at the Penang Swimming Club lately and would say the taste is pretty good and prices are fair. The restaurant comes with a nice seaview and service is pretty decent and food is served within a good time frame. The food here is also Halal so suitable for everyone. Only draw back I believe you need to be a club member to enjoy the food here.

One needs to be a member or go as a guest of a member. One can also be a member of an affiliated club to get entry. It's one of the restaurants associated with Penang Swimming club. The place is spacious with adequate sitting arrangements. Though, at times, it felt pretty crowded, considering the dinner was on a weekday. Pre-booking is better to avoid disappointments. But booking can be done only by a member. The food is fine and tasty. Service is good despite many customers. The environment is a bit noisy at times otherwise its fine. The parking is free and has a good view from the parking area. Alcoholic beverages are available.

I was fortunate to try the food at this members-only club. Since we had several tables ordering the same dishes, some items likely sat for a while before being served, so they weren’t as warm as they should have been by the time they reached us. That said, the dishes were flavorful, well-seasoned, and balanced. The servers were also attentive and accommodating. Certainly will come again if there's a chance.
