Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Sunder Baug Ln, opp. yes bank, near croma showroom, Kurla West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400070, India
Visited this place on a Tuesday evening, with my friend. This place have good ambience for a family dinner. Good interiors, quite good space to serve 5-6 families at a time. They serve North Indian food as well, but its speciality is in South Indian food and everything I ordered was just amazing. The food was very delicious and the quantity was quite good plus the quality was great, all this comes at a very reasonable price. The prices here are very low, and in comparison to that the food quality, quantity and taste is just top notch. I ordered for:- KELA BHAJIYAS, served with Green chutney and tomato ketchup:- it doesn't tastes like banana at all, it was soft inside and crispy outside. TATTE BUTTER IDLI PODI, served with Sambhar and Coconut Chutney:- I tried this dish for the first time and it was very tasty, the idli was served with gun powder and lots of butter/ghee. Must try this item. BUTTER SADA RAVA DOSA, served with Sambhar and Coconut Chutney:- Normal go to go dish, could have been more crispier than it was. Tasted good. THE PUNJABI THALI:- In the end we ordered for this thali which contained, 2sabji, Dal, 4 Puris/Chapati, Jeera rice, Chas, Gulab Jamun, Papad, and Pickle. It's more than enough for a single person with good appetite, everything was very delicious and tasty. Must try this place!!
Thambbi based out of Kurla (West) is an ideal destination for South Indian delicacies. We went for breakfast around 8.00 am on a Sunday and it was a peaceful breakfast we had. There were a couple of things that weren't available despite being displayed on the menu. We ordered Idli Wada Mix, Cheese Masala Dosa, Neer Dosa with Korma, and Filter coffee. The food can still be better kept in mind than how much people love South Indian cuisines. Overall, it was a good experience, and it's a good place to visit with your family.
Thambbi offers a variety of South Indian dishes that are quite affordable. During my visit, I had Ragi Dosa, Dilkhush Dosa, Chatpata Dosa, Dahi Wada, Dal Wada, Tatte Podi Idli, and Banana Bhajiya. I also enjoyed some filter coffee, kokum Sharbat and Lassi. Every dish I tried was excellent, but the Raw Banana Bhajiya was my favorite. The ghee podi tatted Idli and Ragi Dosa were also divine. Overall, I was impressed with the taste, quantity and quality of the food. Vijay served our food while Chef Mohd Akram took care of the cooking. I also appreciated the efforts of Manager Dinesh, who was single-handedly managing both the customers and the online orders.
Provides variety of south indian dishes that are very authentic. We had the south indian thali, veg biriyani, tea and coffee. Tha south indian thali was great. So was the biriyani. Perfect mix of spices. Coffee was good but not like authentic south indian probably coz of mumbai coffee taste different than south indian coffee grounds. Tea was very sweet. The service was top notch and servers were very friendly.
