It's a wonder we've not dined at Tash Tish Tosh before when it's been around since 2013. So when my wife's birthday needed a nice restaurant to dine at around Kampong Glam area I suggested it. The tempting menu of many choices of familiar classics — both of Nusantara Malay and Western classics wonderfully fused, blended and elevated — beckons us to. And we're glad we did, albeit way overdue. Firstly, it will be a remiss on our part not to acknowledge the impressive friendly and wonderful staff and service that greeted and served us. When I saw my wife all ready to tip I know she agrees. They were not only helpful but are politely attentive and generous. Which leads us to the equally generous servings of their food. And for the relatively affordable prices charged we were not only happy but pleasantly satisfied. For me I was already happy to see greens being served with our main orders. And their standard side salad is not just an afterthought but is beautifully seasoned and divinely dressed. The rest of the food delivered too. The fried calamari for a starter is while not done the classic Italian style has its own crunchy coating that has a hint of spice lift that makes it addictive and delicious on its own, although the side condiment is really creamy yummy too. We decided to do the Asian thing and ordered four different types of mains. The fried rice based one is good with the squids although the belado promised didn't quite translate to the more familiar sambal sotong that came instead. And although we reluctantly are getting used to Malay food being made sweeter nowadays we are not crazy over their overly sweetened sauce. The creamy pasta with grilled chicken is a total winner. The sauce leans more towards a creamier lemak chili padi but is really delicious. My daughter opted for the pizza which was really good and generous such that we had to asked to doggy bag what we could not finish. Which brings us to the most expensive item ordered but is the most disappointing. Our son opted for the wagyu steak but it came tough and chewy. We told him that they probably did it well done unasked but perhaps the cook didn't watch that it came to the table not only overcooked but rather rubbery tough. That was frustrating. Other than that overall the food is really good and we understand why it continues to be a favourite and winner with diners. We know we'll be back to try the rest. Except we will pop over to their bigger outlet at Marine Cove instead. This original one at Kandahar Street is smaller and although we booked a table but were rather disappointed to be pushed to close to the toilet side as a big family group took up several tables for a birthday celebration. I felt bad for my wife but we're not the sort to announce the special occasion for her birthday too. Still, TashTishTosh — what a mouthful of a name — is a winner for the mouth and service delivered.

Take wet wipes!! To really appreciate the experience, you need to eat with your hands. Amazing comfort food that really hits the spot in a quiet, friendly little restaurant. Interesting, Hallal-based menu. Service is prompt. The staff are friendly. We'll definitely be going back for more.

Awesome pasta… creamy sauce definitely must try! Other dishes taste as good too. Will be back for sure.

The menu looks super exciting! We had Bomb Pizza, chicken salad, 24 sticks of satays, and a sotong belado rice. 5 out of 7 had a drink each. $149.40. The place can improve its air conditioning. Was a little stuffy. Ample parking spaces opposite the restaurant. BUT the bomb pizza blows my mind. Love at first bite!!!! Love the intensity of the chillies! Will return because of this pizza!
