Lovely little place with dishes to share. My wife and I had the Zucchini fritters, the squid (tasty sauce!!), the salmon and the lamb. All dishes were beautifully presented, diverse in taste and truly delicious. Service was great too. We also liked the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. My wife and I spent a lovely evening here to (almost) finish our stay in New Zealand. I can highly recommend this place.

2022 Definitely one of the absolute best meals I have had in Christchurch. Such beautiful attention to detail, thoughtfulness and respectful service. I wish you full bookings as you deserve it. Can't wait to come back. 2025- Lovely backdrop of New Regent St lights. Service by Mia just awesome as was food. Set menu great way to go. We loved every dish.

Visiting from Sydney and we were sceptical about finding great food in Chch after having some average experiences elsewhere. Had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Highly recommended. The chef is definitely well travelled, and the menu has been thoughtfully curated. Service was just as good as the food. Don't miss out on a great food experience if you're in town.

I don’t normally review this quick (or ever to be honest) but this was the best meal of our 2 weeks in the South Island and probably the best lamb ribs I’ve ever had! Gorgeous intimate restaurant and amazingly friendly host paired with that food and wine, if I lived here it would be my local!

Have been to Story a few times now, and can’t wait to get back. Food is fantastic - simple dishes done well, with beautiful ingredients. The service is charming, too, striking a balance between casual, fun and sophisticated. Great spot for an intimate dinner, or as a gathering place for close friends. I’ve sat upstairs a few times, where the mood is dark, cosy and inviting - and I’ve also enjoyed light food and wine on the street outside - a great spot for people-watching, as the the trams rumble by, mere metres away. 10/10!
