Great local find at a reasonable price so close to the mosque. Murtabak was delicious and devoured by the kids. The biryani was flavoursome and the gravy had good spices without being too spicy. Lastly, the Nasi Goreng was also great and loaded with egg. Would definitely come back
Moslem Indian Restaurant with reasonable price and portion. I tried mutton briyani and Nasi goreng ikan bilis. All are nice tastes. The mutton is very tender. This restaurant location very strategis, near with Masjid Sultan. For moslem who's travel to Singapore is better look for hotel around here. Beware, if you pay with visa you will get 10 pct charge, better use cash payment.
I stopped here on my first night back in Singapore. They were located near my hotel and I was about to eat my arm desperate for a bite to eat. I had also heard they did the 'best' murtabak. I had never tried it before so could not compare, but it was good. I had the chicken murtabak. There is a vegetarian option too. Very spicy and I am of Indian origin! The small size was big! I struggled to finish it. I had the Kopi 'O' Ice to drink with it. This was refreshing in the heat but sweet. My bad, should have told them no sugar but it was fine. No frills local canteen like restaurant. Very small with limited seats. Diners were mainly local families. Nice atmosphere. I managed to get a table at the back. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Food and drinks come quickly once you order. Sit down, grab a table and order from the menu. Very cheap. Cool atmosphere. Located just off Arab Street. My small negatives were cleanliness. Floors and tables could be cleaned better. I also think they could have been a little more generous with the chicken filling in the murtabak. Would recommend otherwise.
This place has real character. The food is delicious, the spices hit just right and the portions are big. The lamb shank biryani is amazing. A must visit if you’re in the area.
I came here to try the murtabak that my friend recommended. I ordered a small mutton murtabak, but the portion was bigger than I expected. It was crispy, packed with lots of ingredients, and really delicious. Next time, I’d love to try the beef and chicken murtabak too!
