We had lunch here and ordered a variety of food. The nasi lemak was good as was the lei cha. It was fun to combine all the ingredients and pour the tea soup for lei cha. Service was attentive and polite with food served quickly. A nice place for vegetarian food.
Love eating here. The food is nice! We’ve been here for many years. ??
Simple Life does a pretty good vegetarian twist on regular Chinese dishes and I enjoy their Asian dishes more than their Western counterparts. Their lei cha is delicious Simple Life’s star dish Organic Lei Cha (RM20.90). Lei Cha is a traditional Hakka dish that comes with a bowl of aromatic soup which is a concoction of pounded tea leaves, basil, mint and herbs, rich in nutrition and good for health. It is served together with an array of assorted vegetables and Simple Life’s multi-grain rice. This dish is a plethora of flavours as well as a play of texture, leaving an extremely satisfying mouth feel. Peanuts and green beans are a few of the key ingredients of Lei Cha. Peanuts are an excellent plant-based source of protein and are high in various vitamins and minerals. Meanwhile, green beans are a good source of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C and vitamin A.
The lei cha fried rice offered a unique green hue, served with pan-fried tofu cubes arranged around it. The portion was big. The fried rice with Thai tofu featured deep-fried tofu covered in a vibrant red Thai-style sauce, accompanied by mixed grains, broccoli, and cauliflower. Both meals came with a side of soup. Overall, the food was decent and the service was satisfactory.
