Come here for the large portions. Good was decent and service was excellent. Received unexpected dishes and rice. The owner was magnanimous in that way. As an example the Bun Cha was 115k, which is not cheap. But it was enough to be shared by at least 2 people, with free refills on herbs if needed.
It was one of our best food experiences in all of Vietnam! The owner was amazing – he showed us everything, and at the end, he shared his story, which was very touching. He was a kid from the streets and became the owner of the restaurant. Now he donates money to help poor children because he knows how hard life can be. Great place, great food, unforgettable experience.
Today I visited Sen Trang A Vietnamese Restaurant and was pleasantly surprised to find it was one of my favourite meals I’ve had since travelling in Vietnam for the last 3 weeks. The staff were all so lovely, the food had incredible flavour with generous portions, and it truly felt like an authentic experience. The real gold in travelling is finding gems like this place, where you truly get to experience food from the locals. They are passionate, kind and humble. When each dish came out we were shown exactly how to eat it so we can get the full flavour. They were even kind enough to give us some other complimentary dishes to try which were delicious. Highly recommend choosing this place when you visit Hanoi. You won’t be disappointed ☺️ What inspires me most is the owners story (which you can see attached). Also the video I share is mostly empty dishes because it was so yummy I didn’t get to take a video or photo before we started eating ? love it
Cool place. Very small and looks abit unappealing but the service and food were soo good. The house tofu and tomato was tasty and was given for free for us to try. The spring rolls were huge and so good value. For 3 dishes I paid 85k, which was excellent value. The owner confirmed my dishes were gluten free after reading my translation card, as all the ingredients were fresh. I was a little worried but needn't have been as I was fine. Well worth a visit.
Authentic food, great local restaurant. Portions are quite big as you get lots of extras to go for your meal so ask for less rice if you're not very hungry as we were left with lots of rice at the end. Super friendly owner who showed us the local way of eating the meals properly. The extra free fried egg side dish was delicious, fresh herbs galore, and the best main we tried was shrimp and pork. Best restaurant we've been to, far surpassing the taste of a higher end one we've tried for dinner. Highly recommend! They accept card too.
