Absolutely delicious! We got the meat platter for five, and we practically had to be wheeled out. Generous portions and absolutely phenomenal flavor! The meat was seasoned so well, beautifully tender, and the vegetables were so fresh and cooked perfectly! They also have a selection of wines from Ethiopia. I highly recommend coming here for dinner, especially of you’ve never Ethiopian food before.

It was the first time we had Ethiopian food and we looooved it ?

We bought the platter for 2 (non-veg) and it came with 3 meats and about 8 different vegetables. Such a great healthy feast for a Friday night. We were so full as they were very generous with food.

The place was clean and the lady who was serving was very friendly too. She had a lovely smile.. So please keep doing what you are doing ????

Really enjoyed the food here. The vegan options was absolutely delicious (I was dining with non vegans and the lady separated the meat from the vegetables). There was a large variety of different dishes, 10 in total, all cooked perfectly. I’ve been to a few different Ethiopian restaurants in Germany, Spain , Kenya and Tanzania and this one wins for variety, portion size, flavour and value for money. The ingredients are spiced in a balanced way, and not overly salted. The injeera had a wonderful tang. Really fits the bill for a tasty, nourishing meal. Vibe was fantastic and the hostess was friendly and accommodating. I’ve been to Melbourne many times and this was my favourite new restaurant discovered on my trip in 2023.

Update: Back here 1 year later and the food is as good as I remembered! I’d forgotten how big the portion size was, it’s fantastic! Can’t get enough of all the lentils and greens.

Fantastic place to get your Ethiopian cuisine fix. Was not expecting to casually find something this great in the middle of Collingwood...very pleasant surprise. We shared the two person platter and EVERY single thing we tasted was top notch. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

I love eating at Savanna’s restaurant! I have only tried vegetarian/vegan food and shared meals with non-vegetarians who loved it too.
Portions are generous with a nice variety of vegetable dishes to choose from, all tasty and not oily. The shiro is delicious - the mild and spicy version.
The owner and cook, Savanna, is also lovely and welcoming.
Overall, eating there is very good value for money and very enjoyable.
