Flavors were great, variety was great, prices were a little more expensive than other Padangs. I'm used to paying around 30k-40k per mixed plate (at most), so anything more than 60k is up there... On a positive note: this place had an awesome vegan selection and the staff was really cool!
This was my first time coming to try the food here and it certainly won't be the last time. If you are really interested in trying padang style food but are a bit nervous then this is the place for you. For the uninitiated you need to be aware that the food is not served "hot" and it can be pretty spicy depending on your choices......and how much sambal or chilli you ask for. At the side of the food window there is a price list so there are no surprises. You will pay the same as everybody else. I hope that when the time comes for this place to finish up (the land is for sale) that they'll open somewhere else. The people here are friendly and very helpful too. I will be back for more!
The actual shop was 2 shops away from what is shown on the map. Two guys were working with taking orders, making bills and cleaning tables. Kuddos to these hard-working boys. I ordered the beef rendang, chicken rendang with rice. You have to tell them you will eat here and want the rice. Then choose the items you want with your rice. Rendang is cooked with coconut milk, something I love. I rated the food 4 stars only because the beef rendang was a bit tough.
Amazing Padang restaurant. Food is incredibly flavourful and fresh. Seasoning of each dish is done with care and great taste. You should have a certain spice tolerance to enjoy the food. Recommend this restaurant highly!
