No. 8, Jalan Puyuh Larkin Jaya, Larkin, 80350 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia
Second time here and they didn’t disappoint! The queue is always long but I don’t mind it as much because the service is fast. I noticed that there were three different people serving the customers with the food they ordered hence, the waiting time wasn’t that long. There are different kinds of breakfast food including Johor dishes like nasi ambeng etc. that you can try! They also have kuih muih sold near the cashier. We had nasi lemak with a sunny side-up egg, bihun soto & a plate of fried tempeh & fritters. The sambal was slightly on the sweet side and soto soup and the kicap lada was a bit bland on its own, a pinch of salt would definitely elevate the whole dish. The fritters imo was the winner of the day! All in all, the food price was fairly reasonable. The place itself is quite busy even during weekdays. You might want to have a person sitting at the table while you queue for the food if you are only two people dining in.
Food: All around tasty Kampung food. Popular dishes like nasi Ambeng, Lontong and Nasi Lemak what among the local favorites. No complaints about tastes or freshness. Will definitely come again. Service: Service handling was fast and efficient. They were long queues on certain periods of time but the staff were able to handle them effectively. In other words, you wouldn't mind queuing because in no time, it will be your turn. Atmosphere: Pleasant but not noisy about the place. You hear local chatters and small buzzes amongst the locals but still able to have a nice conversation amongst yourselves. Although the table arrangement could be a little space apart, depends on individual privacy but it is nothing to be worried about. Shop ventilation was not that hot during the morning but still nice and warm to have a hearty breakfast.
Was around Larkin area but never had the opportunity to try food around the area. Quick Google brought me to this place. First impression, good Malay food at reasonable price. There is plenty of options. Highly recommended is the lempeng kelapa with option either curry chicken or beef curry. Those with kids can go for the curry chicken as it isn’t spicy at all.
First time visiting this spot (recommended by SIL). We left this place thinking of coming back to try more menus! You have to arrive very early, as this place started to get crowded around 8ish. But definitely worth the wait.
