I recently visited Plant Junkie with my best friend, and we were instantly obsessed with the bright, airy vibe. The natural light, cozy seating, and fun neon sign gave the space such a welcoming, feel-good energy—we couldn’t stop gushing about the interior. Liz was there to greet us and take our order, she was incredibly passionate about their mission and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. We kicked things off with the Sri Lankan Karma Bowl, bursting with bold, comforting flavors—seitan curry, coconut kale, crispy papadum, and fluffy basmati rice. It was rich, hearty, and absolutely satisfying (I didn't want to share this one). Next up was The Wicked Baller, a “meatball” grinder on a soft pretzel bun, loaded with marinara, peppers, onions, and crispy shallots—tangy, savory, and totally nostalgic. The bun is sooooo good. Of course, we had to try the crispy “Chicken” Nuggets (because why not?) they were such a generous portion and a refreshing Greek Salad with tofu feta and crunchy pita chips. To top it all off, we indulged in the vegan mocha cake and homemade cookies—perfectly sweet, rich, and not too heavy. Plant Junkie isn’t just about great food; it’s a feel-good spot with a mission, blending bold global flavors with a passion for sustainability. Definitely worth a visit, whether you’re vegan or just craving something delicious.

A Flavor Explosion – Plant Junkie Sets the Bar for Vegan Eats As a meat eater who truly appreciates great plant-based food, I was blown away by Plant Junkie. Flavor and freshness are often hard to come by in vegan restaurants—but they absolutely nailed it. Tucked on a quiet, charming street in South Street Seaport, the vibe is warm and welcoming, and the staff couldn’t be nicer or more knowledgeable. We started with the Hipster Crispy "Chicken" Sandwich—crispy, juicy, and loaded with fresh veggies on a soft pretzel bun. It tasted just like a classic chicken sandwich in the best possible way. The Sri Lankan Karma Bowl was colorful, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. Great textures, perfect spice, and seriously satisfying. The Roma Bowl was the showstopper. Their house-made marinara was rich and bright, served over spaghetti with shockingly spot-on vegan Italian sausage and meatballs. The garlic broccoli was the perfect finishing touch—tender, flavorful, and balanced. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the food is exceptional. I can’t wait to return—with my vegan friends in tow!
