By far the best Mandi we had for a very long time. To start with, service was top class. Order was served within 2-3 mins and I must say, that is fast. The 1st served soup had a flavour of its own and the Mandi was off the charts. Everything was perfectly cooked and served with a touch of love. The charcoal chicken was too good to be missed and to finish off, the palm special tea will surely bring back some memories for tea lovers. Highly recommended.
If you have never tried Arabian cuisine before, I highly recommend visiting the best Mandi restaurant in Melbourne. They serve delicious Lamb and Dajaj Chicken Mandi dishes, along with a variety of starters and platters, like hummus, falafel, and mixed grill platters, which are perfect for sharing. I was pleasantly surprised with the quantity and quality of food offered at such a reasonable price. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We ordered two lamb sheesh kebab as a starter; one with mild flavor and one with hot. We also ordered “Big Feast” which was perfect for us (5 adults and 3 kids). We were there to share our food. Let’s be honest about the food. Lamb sheesh was accompanied by rice, salad and bread. Rice was cold which was disappointing. We pointed this issue out to the waiter and his response was “you should have told us earlier”. Last time I checked, providing a hot meal to the customer, in a restaurant, is the norm. However lamb sheesh was too good; hence cold rice was not a big deal but the response from the waiter was. Now let’s dive in to the big feast, the rice was enough hot & tasty, chicken was very juicy and tender. Fish was very good but the adana kebab made us disappointed. Four of us have the same comment about the adana kebab; stale or off. And the manager/owner tried to defend it saying the lamb meat would taste like this. That would actually diminish the fact that we really loved their lamb sheesh. Whatever, we did not want to get involved in any argument. At the end, they were generous enough to compensate us with a chicken skewer which I couldn’t taste as I had already finished my meal. We really appreciate the gesture. I am writing this review as a well wisher expecting them to take the right measures to pick up the slack here and there. I wish them best of luck.
From the first bite ?I knew this Mandi restaurant was something special. The meat was incredibly juicy and tender, falling apart effortlessly — clearly slow-cooked to perfection. The rice was rich with layers of spices, yet perfectly balanced. The portion sizes are generous, and the pricing is fair for the quality and authenticity. What truly elevated the experience was the traditional seating area — it made us feel like we were dining in the heart of Arabia. A fantastic place to go with friends or family❤️
