One of the best Turkish cuisine in Melbourne. They have shisha as well. It’s a bit hard to find parking nearby. But the food was amazing. The mojitos were ok, as an advice put less on ice then it will be good. Overall 9.5/10 It’s halal and a must visit restaurant in Melbourne.

Nefes is a Turkish restaurant located in the busy Lygon St dining locale in Carlton, and is a brisk walk or short tram trip from Melbourne’s CBD. Offering authentic food from Turkey in a medium-sized venue, the dishes are largely meat-focused as you’d expect with lots of lamb and chicken options. I had the chicken skewer which was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of rice accompanied by yoghurt and a side salad. As I was there early in the evening service was attentive without being overbearing. Definitely worth checking out as an option. Please note that as a halal restaurant it does not serve alcohol.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to the team at Nefes. I’ve been to countless restaurants across Melbourne, but your food truly stands out. The quality is absolutely top-notch, and the generous portion sizes are such a pleasant surprise. Every dish I’ve tried has been bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. It’s clear that a lot of care and pride goes into your food and service. Keep up the amazing work — you’ve definitely earned a loyal customer in me!

Such a beautiful display of Turkish culture through both the atmosphere and food. We were sitting next to a detailed beaded painting in a corner as seen in the pictures. And most importantly, not only was the presentation of the food incredible but of course the taste too. Definitely try that hanging Sises.
