Oknha Nou Kan Street (St. 105), Phnom Penh 12258, Cambodia
We dined at their Neak Mday restaurant on the main floor of our G Mekong hotel for lunch and dinner because of the AC and for the convenience. This was our first meal in Cambodia and it is on the pricer side compared to restaurants outside of the hotel. For lunch we ordered Chhut Me Chong Phov (Chef's Set) - $25USD the fried rice in pineapple & grilled chicken was very delicious! It is expensive as this set wasn’t worth the price so most likely wouldn’t order it again. We also ordered a bunch of other dishes however I forgot to take a picture of the total cost after! For dinner we ordered M.01 - braised beef tongue with bamboo shoot ($8.50) & M.14 - fried dry chicken with lemongrass ($6.50USD) highly recommend this dish if you're okay with eating spicy. The restaurant’s really nice and clean with full blast AC if you’re already staying at G Mekong Hotel. The server was a new trainee, she was very friendly even though there was language barrier.
Neak Mday. Amok and frog dishes amazing. Soup had influence of MSG so not too appealing. Westere food is ok, but Khmer seems better. Staff are trying hard to provide good service but problem with English is evident.
This would be the first time restaurant that earns 4 stars from my review with my actual rate 4.3. Interiors design is superb and customer service is pretty attentive ?? They have various options and food tastes pretty good. Portion is big which I could barely finish it all alone ? All in details are in my photos… Oh they do serve bf, lunch, and dinner… I would definitely go there again for other lunch and dinner…
Ordered the Samlor Korko– one of the best soups of my life. Most flavorful vegetable based broth I’ve ever tasted. It’s an inconspicuous restaurant located inside a hotel and it was completely empty when we arrived at noon so I had low expectations going in but the food was truly incredible.
First time visiting and exploring Cambodia! We booked “G Mekong Hotel” bc we went by the reviews. Down stairs they have “Neak Mday Restaurant” and the food is great! I’m Cambodian-American I can judge by the taste of the food. I’m Recommending the Kathiew! Trust me I live in lowell, Ma we have plenty of Cambodian restaurants and the flavors you can’t compare! I still love my local flavors ☺️ Dom & Bunly has been a great service to us! Professionalism is a great thing to have, to keep us Travelers happy and to return! Keep up the great work to you both. We had to book here again before departure back home. THANK YOU ☺️ PS Great Sky Bar and awesome lights of the city at night! ?
