Amazing food ? Amazing Chai ? Amazing chef ?? By far my favorite place to eat to eat Indian food. The owner and chef Tashi has a heart of gold and really takes care of his customers, and is super passionate about Indian cuisine! I love the chickpea curry! It is a very simple dish yet the flavors are so rich and satisfying. The homemade hot sauce adds a real kick try it if your brave, and don’t forget the handmade nan. Also, definitely try the Indian “pulled” Chai! It’s delicious and it’s preparation is quite the show. The prices are very reasonable at Namaste Taiwan, much more affordable then other Indian restaurants in town, and the food here is better because Tashi makes it with love ❤️
The food was very tasty, price is very reasonable for the size of the portion, the boss also offered us to add the curry sauce which is a very kind of him, appreciate that. The waiter was also very kind and polite, they also can speak in English or Indian if you can’t speak Chinese. The thing is that you have to wait a little longer if you want to dine in, other wise if you want to take away then it’s almost perfect. The owner even treated us with free chai tea after our meal! 謝謝老闆!
It is located night market of National Taiwan Normal University and approximately 15 minutes walking distance from Taipei Power MRT. It is more like an open-space restaurant with few sitting areas and an open kitchen. They usually serve seasonal fresh vegetarian and nonvegetarian cuisine at affordable prices. The quality and quantity are well justified with price tags. Moreover, you can ask for free extra salads and curry. Besides, the hospitality, and the friendly nature of the owner are the plus point. Usually popular among locals and students. Mutton curry with butter nan is a must try.
One of the friendliest restaurants I have been to so far! We arrived with a group of six just to realize that we might have some space problems in the tiny dine in area. However, the waiter was super helpful and made sure we could all fit anyways. I can recommend only dining in with groups of max. 4 people. We ordered chickpea, chicken and mutton curry with garlic naan. As appetizers they dished out seasoned onion slices which after initial hesitation were surprisingly good! From everyone's opinion the mutton curry was super delicious and is the absolute recommendation. I personally had the bbq chicken curry and while it was very tasty, it was also very heavy. The chickpea curry was decent, but my friends liked the other curries more. The naan ordered as a side seemed homemade and was really good. The only two real downsides for the dinner were the ~45min waiting time from ordering to receiving our food and that while the portions are large the dishes (in combination with naan and maybe a yogurt) are on the little more pricier side.
Best Tandoori Chicken in Taiwan! After two years in Taiwan, I finally found real Tandoori Chicken — and it’s at Namaste Taiwan! Juicy, perfectly marinated, and grilled to smoky perfection, this took me straight back to the taste of home. Absolutely delicious! A big shoutout to Tashi vai, who is not only a great cook but also super friendly and welcoming. His smile and warm hospitality made the experience even better. You can feel the love and care he puts into every skewer! If you're craving authentic Indian flavors in Taiwan, this place is a must-try. Highly recommended!
