I had a disappointing experience at Mr Bean @ NUH. Firstly, they display a credit card sign but do not provide paywave or credit machine facilities. Secondly, when purchasing five items for takeaway, I was compelled to pay $0.20 for a plastic bag. Thirdly, there was no signage indicating the need to bring own bags. Finally, I question whether the plastic bag is worth $0.20 or if this charge is merely a means to increase profits while claiming to support environmental causes.

This should be the govt policy issue as they encouraged to make consumers pay for the bag instead of removing them altogether.. to save the environment issue or global warming problems.

20 cents for a flimsy small plastic bag! I am flabbergasted. Other f&b stalls around the area charged either 10 cents or without any charges for a carrier. Customers need a carrier for food and drinks that they bought from your shop! If the business owners really want to show that they care a lot about the environment, then go with the same charges of other businesses. Why charged double of what other stalls charged for a carrier? You’re also making your staff dealing with unnecessary frustration from customers. All the smiles and patience that your staff putting efforts to serve the customers will just go down the drain when the customers are asked to pay for 20 cents for a carrier. Btw, even NUH pharmacies charged only 10 cents, yet their bags are way bigger and tougher than this flimsy small bag by this shop!

The spicy minced chicken bowl was nice. However the chicken as you can see its just more or less a small scoopful that is abit bigger than the spoon they provide, basically they could have put in more proteins at $6.90.

Tang yuan with ginger soup not so gingerly. Kinda expensive for that portion at $4.50

Got to applaud the sympathetic and patient staff that get nagged/flamed by customers non-stop and still keep smiling, remain polite and respectful to ask if a bag is needed.

Happened to come before lunch rush hour, very few seats. Everything is rather pricey, but don’t taste too bad.

Sad that the management makes them charge 20 cents for a tiny plastic bag. Have to wonder how much the staff earn per hour, and if they would be better off earning more from selling plastic bags on the side!

There should be some discount at least for those who spend a certain amount or at least be given a big paper bag instead of trying to juggle buns, drinks, or beancurd while walking in or around the hospital.

It seems more disturbing if someone were to spill sweet drinks or food as compared to a wet umbrella.

Hi, I’ve been regular at Mr Bean for many yrs. thought

I suffered a horrendous accident on 30 Nov and went to A n’ E at NUH.

After I was discharged, I thought I could have a nice meal at Mr Bean. Who knows, the female staff there was v impatient and rude in taking my order. I ordered my fav Spocy Chicken Mushroom Set Meat @ $8.50.

When my order arrived, I requested the server to carry the food to my table. I had difficulty walking due to my injuries, ya see. She ignored my request. So I had to carry the dish back to my table.

To my horror, I discovered the dish was missing Carrots which is a staple ingredient! I complained to the staff and she told me they had run out of Carrots rudely! As if her rudeness wasn’t bad enough, why didn’t she tell me beforehand they had run out of Carrots?!?!

I have proof of receipt and a photo of the food.
