This was a very cool place with Viking music and decorations. The food itself was average but it was an interesting experience to drink beer out of a horn and pick your own knife to use for the main. The beef short rib was huge so we shared one between the two of us. We also got the bone marrow as a starter and a polenta as a side. This was the perfect amount for us.
Amazing atmosphere, as soon as i went in felt like i was in a completely different place. The servers were amazing and friendly. Loved the music and decorations. I love that this place serves mead, it was an amazing experience. I would recommend everyone to try this restaurant out. It was a tricky place to find but we’ll worth it(hint: look out for the wooden door).
Excellent food, deceptively filling, a great selection of meads and other libations including some amazing non alcohol mixes. Perfect atmosphere for a Viking restaurant and caring servers. I'm so full after dining there
An unforgettable dining experience at Mjølner! From the moment we stepped in, the Viking-themed interior set the tone for a feast. We were having a birthday group dinner and served with the set menu. Everything was beyond expectations, the roast pork belly with the crispiest crackling, perfectly roasted chicken, buttery baby potatoes, and a glass of smooth, aromatic mead — a must-try! Every dish was rich in flavour and beautifully plated. The attention to detail—from the custom knives to the cozy lighting—made the whole experience feel immersive and special. It’s the kind of place you’d want to return to for both food and atmosphere. Highly recommend for a unique and indulgent night out.
Although my visit was back in May 2024, the experience was so memorable that I still feel compelled to share my thoughts. I had actually jotted down a few notes at the time (for my instagram), so this review is heartfelt and unscripted. We visited this unique spot to celebrate my brother’s graduation, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t your typical restaurant. Walking through the massive front door was an adventure in itself. From the outside, all we could see was a large, mysterious door—once opened, we stepped into a dimly lit space that exuded Nordic vibes, almost like stepping into a scene from The Lord of the Rings. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a complimentary honey-based alcoholic drink and taught the traditional Nordic toast, Skål! — a charming touch that added to the immersive experience. One of the most unusual and memorable parts was getting to choose our own knives. They weren’t just for show — they were impressively sharp and added a fun twist to the meal. I’ve never been to a restaurant that does this! We also ordered a beer that was served in a repurposed elephant husk. It was not only a conversation piece but also something my dad enjoyed so much, he bought one to take home. As for the food — everything we ordered was absolutely delicious: - Pork cutlet – incredibly tender - Fish – beautifully cooked - Charred broccoli & cabbage – flavourful and well-balanced - Sourdough waffle (with apple crumble notes) – a personal favourite - Raspberry chocolate mousse – rich and satisfying If you’re looking for an experience that goes beyond just a meal, something immersive, unique, and full of delightful surprises, I would absolutely recommend a visit. It’s not every day you dine somewhere that feels like stepping into another world.
