We've been coming to Makan2 since our high school days, and the food still hits every bit as good as it did back then! We always find ourselves going back to our favourites —Mee Goreng Beef extra extra spicy, plain roti with curry sauce, and the ever-delicious Nasi Goreng Daging Merah (also extra extra spicy). Each dish hits the mark with bold flavours and satisfying spice levels. Recently, we stumbled upon a new favourite: the Beef Pattaya. It’s fried rice wrapped in a soft omelette blanket, with an extra side of Dagging Merah for my husband. The richness and texture combo is just right! If you’re a fan of a little heat in your bowl, the Seafood Tom Yum soup with egg noodles is another go-to for me, also ordered extra spicy, of course. The magic in the kitchen is none other than Ida, the owner’s wife, who has a real gift for making every meal satisfying and bursting with flavours. Knowing she’s cooking brings a little comfort, like being home but with the joy of being out. Her cooking style is so close to mine that it’s almost like having a home-cooked meal without lifting a finger. If Ida’s in the kitchen, you know your food will come out perfect!

The food served at the restaurant was acceptable, offering authentic halal cuisine, which we appreciated. However, the restaurant staff and owner were not particularly friendly or welcoming, especially to new patrons unfamiliar with the place or Perth itself. The seating arrangement felt cramped, with tables and chairs placed too closely together, and the furniture appeared outdated. Additionally, the ambiance could use improvement, particularly in terms of lighting, which was quite dim. Despite these issues, we did enjoy the food and would recommend the restaurant to others who are seeking halal options in Perth, WA

Lovely place, it also had live music with a very please to hear singer. Great food and good quantity with a great atmosphere! Loved it ?

Their food is amazing. Service is great. The lady put so much effort if finding me when I had accidentally left my car keys on the table. Very dedicated staff, polite and trained for profession service. Price and portions are good.

A very warm welcome on arrival food was fresh, tasty, and delicious. Roti canai is perfect, not too sweet, with a kick in the dipping curry. Mee goreng mamak very close to being authentic, and a big serving portion on fried rice can be a plate for two. Wash it all down with hot or cold beverages First time eating here and surely to return
