We have been here more than once and also ordered in advance both their chicken and lamb daumbuk(a Myanmar dish similar somewhat to Indian biryani) for a celebration at home. Each visit has always left us feeling very satisfied and happy we have sampled another new dish put together by the chef/owner. Through his recommendations, we learn new dishes. So enjoyable has each visit been that we always look forward to a delicious meal at Little Myanmar. Today's visit was no different. This time we were here to celebrate a friend's birthday, while introducing her to Myanmar cuisine. The chef and owner went out of his way to make it a very enjoyable and memorable experience for us. Keen to sample his tasty dishes, we left it to him to plan the meal for us. Starting with samosas and a hot Myanmar tea, we were next served a very refined and delicious tempura salad and then the chicken biryani followed by the day's special- Duck Noodles. This was served with a piping hot Myanmar Chinese tea to accompany the dish. Last but not least we had a glutinous rice dish- a dish commonly eaten for breakfast or supper in Myanmar. Each dish carried subtle notes of spices and tastes that resembled home-cooked food. The very approachable and kind owner/chef took pride in moving around tables and chatting to diners about the different dishes on his menu. He has a very extensive menu - ranging from the more popular Myanmar dishes like Mohinga, Shan Tofu, Lepat Tamin to dishes not commonly found outside of Myanmar. My friend's favourite today was the duck noodles-succulent, tender pieces of duck in a tasty soup while mine will always be the dumbauk with the accompanying soup and the tempura salad. Having found this hidden gem of an eatery, tucked away in Clementi, it is one that has become our go-to place when we yearn for authentic home-cooked Myanmar dishes, a cuisine we recently discovered and very much enjoy. Little Myanmar is definitely a place we would recommend where you can sample tasty Myanmar cuisine amid very pleasant surroundings.
First time. This place is fantastic. Had Pickled Tea Leaf Salad and Mohinga. Both great. Supplemental chilis unnecessary - the food was spicy enough! The menu seems somewhat fluid. And they do something like Nasi Campur style with somethings (I didn't try this - but another option). Came at 12:30 and there was no wait. Not sure why google thinks there would be 30 minutes
In an exploratory mood, tried 2 myanmar food stalls within clementi (why does clementi have so many myanmar food stalls?). Tried the mohinga here. Stall owner was very helpful in explaining how it should be eaten, seeing that we are not myanmar nationals. We learnt that the focus is on the soup and not the carb. The soup is like nothing I've tried before, so can't even associate it with anything i've ever encountered. It's totally unique and I don't even know how to describe it. It's probably worth another try at some point in time. It's not cheap. I think it was $6.50 but does not come with much ingredients.
Hands down, one of the best dining experiences I've had in Singapore! *Little Myanmar* in Clementi is a hidden gem that serves up authentic, mouth-watering Burmese cuisine. From the moment we walked in, the owner's warm hospitality made us feel like we were part of the family. The cozy atmosphere and traditional Myanmar decor added to the charm. But the real star of the show was the food! We ordered the tofu noodle and beef noodle and each dish was more delicious than the last. The flavors were rich and bold, and the portions were generous. What truly impressed me was the authenticity of the cuisine. As someone who's had Burmese food before, I can confidently say that *Little Myanmar* gets it right. If you're a foodie, or just looking for a unique dining experience, *Little Myanmar* is a must-visit. Don't miss out on this gem! *Recommended for:* Foodies, families, and anyone looking for authentic Myanmar cuisine. *Price Range:* Affordable ($6-$15 per person) *Will I return?:* Absolutely, and with friends!"
