Went for something to drink and got the Matcha Latte, which was terrible. The Matcha was not made correctly, the powder seemed to be simply added to the milk and still cost more than 6 euros. The service didn’t seem very friendly either.

Absolutely worst experience ever at Le Pain Quotidien on Rue Epic. I ordered an iced matcha, which the menu said was possible, but the staff didn’t understand what I wanted because I spoke English. After 10 minutes of waiting, another server finally got it. The “matcha” was a complete disaster, just cold milk with some ice and huge clumps of undissolved matcha powder floating in it. It tasted chalky, nothing like a proper matcha, no vibrant color, no smooth texture. And to top it off, they charged nearly 7 euros for this mess.

On top of that, the staff seemed completely clueless. The staff was so bad that we decided not to lunch there. Even paying took over 2 minutes because the cashier didn’t know how to use the register. Absolutely unacceptable. I won’t be coming back.

We waited almost 30 mins for someone to take our order, when that didn’t happen we went inside (we sat outside) to order as we thought maybe that was the process.  We then waited another 20 mins before going inside again to ask was happening with our meals.  Then the server came to take our order. ?.

When our meals finally came my husband’s eggs were cold, our coffee was lukewarm, and I had to still wait to get my breakfast which was a croissant and some bread.

I get if it’s busy but at the very least acknowledge that with the customer, apologize for the wait, and offer to bring out the coffee as something to tide people over until the meal comes out.  Guessing this is a chain so that was our first mistake.

Seriously only giving this place 2 stars because the food (once it arrived is actually nice) but unfortunately the service is absolutely terrible...from sitting down to having food in front of us was well over 1 hour, now if this was fresh food being prepared when busy I could maybe accept, but this was a standard issue basket of breads and croissants.... eventually after receiving our food, we then had to chase up for the spreads that were meant to go with it, and then again for cutlery that never came, so just spread butter on bread using the packets....a shame really, but after the quality of the food the most important thing is service and at this place it was pretty much nonexistent.
