We found Kiroran Silk Road is an absolute gem in Sydney! We ordered: • Lamb Kabob Skewers: Juicy, tender, and perfectly spiced, they were a flavor-packed delight. • BBQ Lamb Ribs: Smoky, succulent, and fall-off-the-bone perfection—absolutely unforgettable. • Uyghur Salad: Fresh, crisp, and vibrant, providing the perfect balance to the rich lamb dishes. • Classic Lagman Noodles: Hand-pulled excellence with a bold, hearty sauce that was full of authentic flavors. Everything was flawless—the taste, presentation, and portion sizes. The service was warm and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. The ambience transported us straight to the Silk Road, with a cozy and welcoming vibe. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Halal Uyghur cuisine! Will definitely be back!
Delicious food and convenient location Super authentic and true to the traditional flavours. Everything was very fresh but all bought out separately which meant we could not enjoy all the flavours together. ITEMS: Charcoal Lamb Skewers 5/5 Juicy, fresh and tender with the perfect balance of fattiness Langam noodles 4/5 Amazing texture of noodles chewy and perfectly cooked vegetables Meat buns 3/5 Juicy and dough was perfect but lacked spice. Needed chilli and vinegar to enhance the taste.
First time trying Uyghur food, it has an interesting and unique flavour. Personally I like their lamb skewers and the noodle dish, but overall food was great.
My friend and I went there for lunch. It was an experience for me as I never heard about this cuisine. I did some research got to read about their specialities and the restaurant reviews. The restaurant is located in the heart of city, just 5 minutes walk from Town hall. The ambience will give you a feel of an authentic set-up from their culture. It has a very basic look without anything fancy. We ordered the crispy fried potato and chicken along with the stir fried lamb. To my surprise the dishes were amazing. The flavours were subtle yet had the kick of spice which wasn't overpowering. The dishes were cooked to perfection and meat were really soft. The portion size were huge and each dish can serve 2 people. It looks like it is run by a family and everyone was super engaged. Greeting people and serving food with a minimal wait. They offer BYO which would be a great option as well. I would rate the 4 for food and 3.5 for atmosphere. But, it introduced to a new culture and culinary art so I would definitely try more dishes again.
Out for drinks on a Friday arvo and one of the guys recommended this restaurant for dinner. Don’t expect anything fancy, as it was like a time capsule from the 90s, with a very basic fit out. The food however was different than anything I’ve had before. The lamb and chicken skewers were tasty as were the noodles and dumplings. It did get very busy by the time we left and service was starting to slow down to try and keep up with the orders. BYO beers and wine (I don’t think there was a corkage fee) Check this place out for something different but be careful as most dishes were quite spicy.
