What a beautiful place this was, I have been to a lot of Turkish places in Sydney and this place transported me to Istanbul during its golden years, the music the ambiance and the food was exceptional. We got the banquet for our table of 7 and we found they were very generous.. for $65 a head this included entrees dips mixed grill (assortment of different meats) desert and tea. There was a line up outside and there’s no wonder why. The staff were so friendly accomodating for gluten free and lactose free substituting things no questions asked, honesty I’ve never had such great customer service in such a busy restaurant. The staff is a credit to the restaurant. The food was served in timely fashion allowing for enough time in between, we didn’t feel rushed. the food was incredibly well seasoned and honestly I ate way too much. This restaurant hit the trifecta for me with customer service, great food and ambiance. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank
The food was tasty and the service was very friendly. The reason I’ve given 4 stars and not 5 is that some skewers were overcooked and tough and they don’t include rice with their skewer plates (I’ve never seen this before, usually rice comes with the skewer plates). Aside from this, the taste of most things were beautiful! I’d definitely be back ☺️
Great Turkish restaurant located along the liveliness of Enmore Rd. FOOD: Great selection of truly yummy gluten free food. They also have lots of vegan and vegetarian options which is lovely. From dips, beads, stuffed vegetables, diced meats etc. STAFF: Lovely, attentive, albeit seemingly less used to busyness (I'm assuming staff will get their head around it in time). ACCESSIBILITY: Some (but very limited) paid street parking available. A couple of places out the front, means you could potentially go there with your dog. Wheelchair access through the place and to the bathrooms would prove tricky. OVERALL: Would recommend as is and rave about if you had better gf bread options. Personal note: PLEASE GET GLUTEN FREE TURKISH BREAD, IT'S AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE, DOESN'T COST MUCH, FREEZES REALLY WELL...because I appreciate getting it fresh, may result in throwing it out, if no one gf comes in that day. Charging more for average gf bread feels crazy when a few minutes from your restaurant they sell amazing gluten free wraps, Turkish bread and good gf bread.
This was our first time trying a Turkish restaurant in Sydney, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere truly transports you—it feels like you've stepped into another place entirely. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The food was absolutely delicious, full of rich flavours. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely come back again!
When I decided to come to SYD, I had to make sure I try an authentic Turkish restaurant that's the closest to places in Turkey. Kayra is a fantastic restaurant & owned by a lovely Turkish family. The lady welcomed me warmly & was very accommodating. I tried their Adana Kebab skewers that are served with salad & pita bread. This is one of the best beef adana kebab I have ever tried. The charcoal flavour is so intense & the herbs of the meat were perfect. Their carrot was labneh was nice as well & the lady owner was so nice to offer it for me to try it out. I wish I had more room to try their knafeh, but next time for sure! The place is very cozy & always full of people. Overall, It made my day & I wish the owners all the best for their hard work and dedication.
