This restaurant is a hidden gem! I ordered the Mandi and it was absolutely amazing. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The presentation of the dish was also beautiful, with a variety of toppings and sides. The service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic and tasty Mandi. Will definitely be coming back for more!

We ordered the Kabana Special Mixed Grill, which included skewers of chicken, lamb Kebab marinated mince with onion, garlic, ginger, herbs, and mild spices. It was served with a sauce and salad, and every bite was perfectly spiced and juicy. We also tried the Lamb Karahi, tender lamb with Afghan special ingredients. It’s delicious! Don’t miss the Chapli Kebab as they were my most fave. The food was flavorful and expertly cooked. We had such a great time here. The Kabana feast was wholesome and delicious, and the staff and hospitality were top notch, with the restaurant team going above and beyond to cater for our needs. A cultural experience too. kabanarestaurantau is a fantastic place to eat at. Don’t forget to pair your meal with Afghan Chai, which complements the dishes perfectly. This will be our go-to spot for authentic Afghan cuisine. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Kabana in Lygon Street, Carlton, and ordered the chopaan ribs and lamb tikka. I have to say, I haven’t had lamb like this in so long—it was absolutely incredible! You can tell the food is made with love. It’s not just about the recipes; there’s real care and attention put into every detail, and it makes all the difference. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, and the quality of the lamb was outstanding. It was a truly special dining experience, and I can’t recommend it enough! and to top it all off, the price was very reasonable. It was a fantastic dining experience, and I highly recommend it!

We ordered the platter for 4 it was so delicious. The lamb champs were out of this world delicious and cooked to perfection. The yummiest bbq we have ever tasted in Melbourne. Generous quantity. Their service was top tier. Cannot recommend kabana enough.

Went to dinner with my wife on Saturday night. I wanted to try something different and came across this Afghan restaurant in Lygon st Carlton. We didn’t know what to order so the waiter made some suggestions. We went for the king platter for 2 which was more than enough for both of us. On the side was 2 dips one yogurt base the other spicy tomato base, both were very good but the tomato base one was hotter than I expected but I still kept going back to it because it was so good. The platter had a mixture of chicken, lamb, beef and rice with salad and bread. The food was excellent, service was good and I’ll be going back soon.
