Recommend making reservations for larger parties. The first time I came here with a party or 8, they couldn't seat us. We were able to come a few days later with a reservation. I enjoyed all of the appetizers we got which included the roti surai, cucur udang, and levant platter. I had the Jawi laksa lemak for my main dish and thought it was ok. I was hoping for chunks of tuna and mackeral in the curry but I learned from a local the fish is stewed in the sauce for flavor (and you shouldn't expect chunks of fish). Also order the masala, which was delicious.
A fav place whenever I'm in PNG. There are only 2 reasons why I gave a 4 to this place: 1) rice selection is limited. An option of a white rice would be good for those whose palate are not used to yellow rice or nasi lemuni . 2) toilet location. I know this can't be helped due to the property structure. The steps are steep. Bad news for those with bad knees like mine. Other than that, our rendang and mutton masala were nice and tender. Reservation is highly recommended.
Super relaxed atmosphere and very quirky interior design. The mutton was absolutely delicious and so much flavour in all the dishes. Would recommend!
This is a must try place in Georges town. Exceptional food, very good quality and perfect recipes. We tried the green mango Salad and it was amazing. We also chose a rice with a mouton stew if I am not mistaken. And all dishes were great. The menu has a variety of options.
This restaurant was great, there’s a lot of history behind it and I enjoyed eating the food here. The biriyani and the beef rendang were my favourites and loved the Arabic infusions, I would recommend coming here to try Peranakan cuisine indoors - which is what we wanted. It’s a small restaurant I booked online on the day and they confirmed via email
