An excellent local street for Muslim food and other accessories and souvenir shops. It's called Huimin Street, but it is not just one street ,but many across the whole area in a grid set-up. I wasn't that hungry when I visited this place and I wish I had skipped dinner the night before ??

The Muslim quarter is pretty huge, but most of them are selling the same stuff, so after a while we lost our interest in continuing. Still I think it is a nice experience, best to go there with empty stomach so that could try all different type of foods and delicacy. I personally think 永兴坊 would be more interesting although it is smaller in size.

Chinese Muslim quarter in Xi'an, lots of unique food around this area! Lots of shops for souvenirs too. JUST BE CAREFUL, shops will try to trick you by reward you with scratch tickets, there will be one ticket showing you have won $3000RMB!!! And you can redeem for jade jewellery, but nothing is less than $3700RMB, which means you have to pay $700RMB for a jade price probably worth than less the $100RMB, a total scam! Just say you are not interested!!! They acted surprised initially that you have scratched the first price and pretended this has never happened before etc etc, but the minute you turned down the offer then they hid the ticket and became rude! The food and restaurants are great, Chinese Muslim are friendly and hospitable! Must visit when Xi'an!
