813, Taiwan, Kaohsiung City, Zuoying District, Bo-ai 2nd Rd, 777號5樓
It's not common to find a Chinese tea house in Taiwan. Thus, this restaurant is quite popular and especially it provides vegetarian dim sum and dishes. Dim sums are yummy and look good. The dining environment is also good which is large and comfortable. So, the price is relatively high but lower than in Hong Kong.
Food was super tasty. I liked the rice wrapped truffle flavor dumpling thingy. It was rich and creamy and had an interesting texture all around. The other rice thingies were also really nice. The slightly soggy texture might be a little weird for foreigners who aren't used to eating this kind of food, but the flavor was definitely interesting and they added a kind of sesame tasting oil saxuce. Was a little bit disappointed with their organic seasoned vegetables as they only gave us one kind but the quality was good and also creamy. Since I have some oil allergies I always ask for olive oil. Unfortunately they don't have the option to use olive oil and they only use soybean oil. The chocolate ball thingies were perfectly fluffy with the sesame feeling being super creamy as well. Since it's supposed to be nicer more upscale restaurant would be nice if they would give the option to use olive oil for some of their dishes..
Great food but the prices have gone up. The service was a bit slow today.
We had lunch at Hi-Lai Arena branch. Comfortable seatings with nicely decorated environment. They have varieties of vegetarian food. Foods are ok. Staffs are attentive. Overall good experience.
Service is wonderful! Food is great! This is one of the restaurants that I visit each time when visiting Taiwan.
