Shop 201 & 202, 618 Shanghai Street Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Located at a nice and cozy area within Mongkok, Dignity Kitchen is a hidden gem offering Singapore and Malaysian food. It is a social enterprise with aim to empower the disabled and disadvantaged. Service is exceptional, staff and helpful and very polite, food is almost as good as the ones I had in Singapore, which is a pleasant surprise.
Wow, why do more people not know about this place??? It's wonderful: - food court-style layout with several kitchens. - we tried the Malaysian style food and it was superb, and not costly. - staff were super friendly and helpful. -interior design is beautiful and contained in a historic Hong Kong building. - it's a not-for-profit enterprise whose focus is creating jobs for folks who may not be able to otherwise get them. - dignified food, dignified staff, dignifed atmosphere
I love the idea of this food court style restaurant! Staffs were welcoming and the AC was much appreciated under the hot sun. I got the laksa with chicken and it had everything I was looking for! The soup was rich with coconut milk, the noodles were cooked just right and the boneless chicken was very tender. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here and would definitely recommend this if you’re ever around Mong Kok!
I was in the area so I stopped by for lunch, as I’ve been wanting to visit for a long time. I ordered the tempeh satay…I had just worked out and hesitated because I thought it might not be enough food. When the meal came, I was quickly disabused of that notion - it was huge! I’m still full writing this review, three hours later. It was quite good, I gave a four star rating for the food bc I’m partial to very spicy food and this was very mild, even the sambal. Price-wise, it was only slightly higher than a typical HK fast food place, but worth it. But otherwise, the restaurant is very clean, spacious place with friendly, dedicated staff. The mission of the restaurant is commendable and serves as an excellent model for social enterprise. I’ll be back to try the other dishes!
Came away with my cup full of wholesomeness. Beautifully executed concept, hawker style layout and reasonably priced food. Glad to support the cause and instil purpose for all. Ordered the nasi lemak with beef rendang. Generous portion and plenty of meat.
