Crown Melbourne, Crown Towers, Level 1/8 Whiteman St, Southbank VIC 3006, Australia
Conservatory Buffet offers an upscale dining experience with an impressive spread of fresh seafood, succulent roasts, and a well-curated selection of international dishes. The ambiance is refined, with soaring ceilings that create a spacious feel, though the seating can be a bit snug. The dessert bar is a highlight, featuring a tempting array of sweets that are both visually stunning and indulgent. Service remains a standout—attentive, professional, and always ready to enhance the dining experience. While the overall quality is still high, I did notice a slight dip in flavor consistency compared to previous visits. Some dishes, like the fresh oysters and roast beef, were exceptional, while others didn’t quite hit the mark. The buffet remains an indulgent feast, perfect for special occasions, but given the price point, I expected a bit more consistency in taste. That said, it’s still a solid choice for an elegant, all-you-can-eat experience in Melbourne.
Most beautiful buffet place I've been in Melbourne. Very stylish and modern. Love sitting next to the window enjoying the Yarra River view of the city. We came on Monday so the buffet is cheaper $89 per person with 4 hours free parking in the multilevel carpark on the far end of Crown building. The most popular food is definitely the oysters which were very fresh and juicy despite a bit small. The bigger size prawns were quite delicious too. Not impressed with the smaller prawns that were not deveined. Overall it was a satisfying experience with a glass of wine or other beverages to choose from. There's wide range of dessert to select as well. I just hope that some of the waiters could have had a bit of smiling face would make the experience more nicer.
Went for the lobstar night on Friday night. Staff were very accomadating and friendly, and the decor and style of the consertory felt like an upscaled fine dining restaurant experience. The food was honestly a hit a miss for me. My partner is vegetarian, so she loved the fresh, high-quality salads and other vegetarian options. But as for myself, I was a little disappointed at the freshness and quality of some seafood. Example the oysters and the lobster. Some of the food tasted a little bland and didn't quite reach the level where I was blown away.
