We had an incredible experience at this cozy vegan okonomiyaki spot in Osaka! The food was absolutely amazing — we tried the vegan okonomiyaki, the grilled skewers, and the fried shiitake mushrooms. Everything was delicious, but the shiitake mushrooms were the real standout — perfectly crispy and full of flavor and the sauce that came with them was tangy and fresh. The owner, who is also the chef and server, did an incredible job getting the food out to us quickly despite running the entire place solo. It’s a small restaurant, so definitely recommend coming with a smaller group (4 or fewer) and being patient — he’s doing it all himself, and it’s well worth the wait.

A lovely quiet restaurant with vegan meals and drinks. Quiet but helpful host. Tables serve 4 people max and probably only about 15 covers? We ordered a few items and then shared. There is also a small gift shop with some cute knickknacks.

My favourite food in Japan from a 3 week trip! ?? We ordered: fried shiitake mushrooms, yakitori (assorted vege soy chicken), udon carbonara & okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki was so delicious, I had to order a second one. This place is run by just one man & there are only 4 tables inside so I'd recommend arriving at 5:30pm when they open (this is what I did). Be patient & respectful, the food is well worth the wait. I 100% recommend a visit to Aju & I will be returning on my next trip to Japan.

We went at night near 20:30 and we were the only diners at the restaurant without needing to wait for a table. The chef is one man band, he looks bery serious but he’s indeed very friendly. ⬇️Food The food taste geeat overall but are more on the salty side to my taste. My personal favourite is the Deep Fried Shiitake Mushroom. Then crunchy bites are just on the point without feeling too oily; Yakitori looks great but the seasoning was quite strong in my opinion; Carbonara Udon tastes just right but would be great if the sauce can be a bit more creamy. ⬇️Payment Accepts all major froms of payments including cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB etc.). ⬇️Parking No onsite parking but there are paid street parking at the near shopping streets. ⬇️Points to note 1. No phone number for the restaurant, so no reservation. 2. Seats are limited (4 tables only) and chef doesn’t accept any parties over 4 people. 3. If you want to order or need anything, press the button on the table and the chef will come. Don’t do anything extra. 4. Utensils and water are self-served.

some of the best vegan food i’ve had in japan so far! carbonara and caesar salad blew us away, yakitori and deep fried shiitake mushrooms were also good. i’d recommend swapping the yakitori for another dish if you’re sensitive to salt.
