If you're looking for more reasons to come back (or finally come!) to JB, then we have good news for you. JB's food scene is thriving now more than ever with cafes, eateries and food joints popping out left and right and from the looks of it, it shows no sign of stopping. So, food lovers, you know what that means. Food trip incoming!

1. Bloom by Mokmok

First on the list is perhaps no stranger to cafe aficionados based in JB. Bloom by Mokmok is the new hippest cafe in town that has charmed its way into the hearts of its many loyal patrons since its opening back in May 2018.

Upon stepping in, the first thing that will grab your attention is their striking, one-of-a-kind decor. Dried flowers bloom overhead from the ceiling, making it feels as if you're stepping into an inverted whimsical garden. Coupled with their pinkish neon sign that glows softly in the dimly lit space, this cafe has just the perfect ambience for some chill and catch-up session with your BFFs.

Serving up fusion food, their menu comes in rice bowls, ramen, burgers and a variety of desserts. Popular picks are their signature Kaarage Chicken Bowl of crispy fried chicken and an onsen egg drizzled with aioli sauce served over a bowl of rice, the flavourful pan-seared Salmon Ramen and the finger-licking Grilled Chicken Burger.

As for desserts, a must-try include their soft and fluffy cream cheese Soufflé Pancake and their heavenly out-of-this-world Egglets! End your meal with their signature artisan tea of A Bloom for You, an exotic tea concoction of Sakura, jasmine and earl grey for a complete blooming dining experience!

2. 93 Bangkok Coffee

The retail concept park of Eco Spring Labs is just flourishing with attractions of all sorts since its opening back in early 2018 and one of those attractions is the many fancy cafes and eateries that are just waiting to be discovered and devoured!

Fans of Thai coffee and Thai desserts? Then you're in for a treat! 93 Bangkok Coffee is a cafe-cum-dessert space offering a plethora of delectable Thai goodies. With a staggering selection of caffeinated drinks that is out of the ordinary, coffee lovers will have a hard time leaving this place. Not only that, but you can also purchase their coffee beans, hailing all the way from Thailand's coffee paradise, Chiang Rai!

4. 7DISH CAFE

The soft and fluffy Japanese pancake trend is definitely one we can get behind, and 7DISH's signature Souffle Pancake is the perfect all-day pick-me-up!

5. August Cafe

Tucked away along the old streets of JB amongst the old-school shop houses is August Cafe, a casual hangout place that has gain much loved and attention for its gorgeous rustic-meets-modern interior.

Bring your camera along as not only the place is filled with Insta-worthy's corners everywhere you turn, the food is also always Insta-ready and delicious to boot! Adventurous eaters will have a fun time trying out their local-inspired innovative drinks and meals such as Ondeh Ondeh Coffee, Sweet Potato Latte, Beef Lemak Cili Padi Pasta and Teh Tarik Cake.

6. Grumpy Goat & Friends

Grumpy Goat & Friends isn't just your regular coffee house, but a speciality coffee house. Their lattes come with delicately drawn coffee art, and they even sell their signature cold brew in bottled form for you to bring back home.

Their menu is rotating, but some of their previous dishes have included Frenched Lamb Cutlet, Vongole (Clam) Pasta, and Japanese Curry Rice! We're looking forward to seeing what else they deliver soon.

7. JOJO Ice-cream

Sweet toothers, rejoice for there's a new dessert parlour in town! Housed in an aesthetically pleasing shop lot decked out in soft baby blue furnishing against white walls, a trip to JOJO Ice-cream is a perfect end to your food adventure here in JB.

Their ice creams are homemade with much care and attention was given to the ingredients they use so expect high-quality goodness! Churning out various enticing flavours such as Milk Butterscotch, Macadamia Choc Chip, Blueberry Yogurt and Lemon Yuzu, their ice creams can also be ordered with Belgian waffles and sandwiches for truly indulgent dessert time.
