Having lived in the north-west of Singapore my whole life, I'll be the first to admit that this part of the country hasn't really been known for its halal food. But in the last few years, things have really changed and you can even find outlets of popular restaurants in Bukit Panjang and an underrated ice cream cafe in Choa Chu Kang. ? So the next time you visit the north-west, here are 12 halal eateries in Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Panjang, and Bukit Batok you've got to check out!

Choa Chu Kang

1. HEY SUGAR

This IG-worthy cafe is a secret spot you may not have heard of! Step into HEY SUGAR and you'll be dazzled by its pink walls, fairy lights, and neon signs. It checks off everything for an IG-worthy hangout and it even has interesting ice cream flavours too. Ready to try a scoop of cotton candy bubblegum or Milo dinosaur? ? Or you can go for more conventional flavours like strawberry cheesecake, rocky road chocolate, or earl grey too. Paired with their brownies and iced coffee, it's the perfect treat on a hot day!

If you haven't been impressed by food court-level Japanese or Korean food before, DON N BAP will completely change your mind! This small stall at Choa Chu Kang Civic Centre (next to Lot 1 Shopping Mall) serves everything from bibimbap to curry don to ramen and from personal experience, it all tastes amazing. ? This halal zi char spot is perfect for a family meal with its generous portions and huge menu! Sinaran Seafood may be a small and humble stall but don't underestimate it. From rich and hearty servings of Hor Fun or Crispy Noodles to seafood dishes like Chilli Crab and Fried Baby Sotong, you won't be able to stop at just one bite. ?
