For the uninitiated, daifuku is something like mochi (Japanese rice cake) with a sweet filling and red bean paste. This particular item is halal-certified by the Japan Halal Standard and similar ones have been sold in other Japanese cities like Osaka, but this is one of the few places to sell it in Tokyo.

The best part is, there are different flavours to suit your fancy - from green tea to mango, strawberry and cafe au lait. The cream in the daifuku enhances its taste, making it a great snack to have when you're walking around Asakusa ? One daifuku packet costs JPY128.
