Singapore's hawker centres sometimes hide the best hidden halal gems - like Haji E-Moiden Food Stall in Teban Gardens Market and Food Centre! Though it's located all the way in Jurong East, this humble hawker stall's claim to fame is their super-crispy Roti Prata Kosong which fans have called the crispiest Roti Prata in Singapore! ?
The stall was originally started in 1988 and it's gathered quite a few loyal fans over the years. After the original chef passed away in 2003, his son Faizal took over and has carried on the tradition of making extra-crispy prata for a true "Breakfast of the Champions". ?
To get here, take a 20-30 minute bus ride from Jurong East MRT and look out for Mr Faizal's bright red stall front. Liverpool fans might recognise the bright red of their favourite team - Mr Faizal is also a huge fan, and his motto is even "You'll Never Eat Prata Alone"!
The first item you have to try is definitely the Prata Kosong ($1). Not only is it super-affordable at just $1, but having it plain really lets the crispiness shine through! ? They also have noodles like Mee Hoon Goreng ($2.50) and Mee Goreng ($2.50) but the prata is the signature dish you need to try for sure.
If you want even more flavour in your breakfast, they also have classics like Egg Cheese Prata ($2), Plaster Prata ($1.50), and Egg Onion Prata ($1.70) to get you ready for the day ahead. Yup, you can get your roti prata fix for $2 or less! ?
Their dalcha and curry are made fresh daily so you know you'll be starting your day with some amazing flavours. The stall opens early at 5AM but it's so popular that they can even sell out before they close at 10.30AM! So you'll have to arrive early to grab a bite of crispy goodness - but it just takes one bite and you'll be hooked. ?
