Calling all our JB-loving friends! If you’ve ever survived the weekend queues at the Causeway or lugged your heavy shopping bags through the bus terminals, we have some huge news that will make your next cross-border trip a total breeze.
No More Terminal Queues!
Starting 4 May 2026, travelling between Singapore and Johor Bahru is getting a major upgrade. Grab has officially been awarded the first-ever Cross-Border Ride-Hail Service Operator Licence (CRSOL)!
What does this mean for you? You can now book a licensed cross-border taxi directly through the Grab app for a seamless door-to-door experience.
What’s New?
Previously, cross-border taxis were limited to picking up and dropping off at specific spots like Ban San Street in SG or Larkin Sentral in JB.
But with the new Cross-Border SG-JB (Beta) pilot launching this May, you can get picked up from anywhere in Singapore and dropped off anywhere within these Johor areas:
- Johor Bahru (City Centre)
- Iskandar Puteri (Legoland, anyone?)
- Forest City
- Kulai
- Senai
How To Book
The service works on an Advance Booking basis. You'll need to schedule your ride at least 12 hours in advance (and up to 7 days ahead). No more last-minute stress!
HHWT Tip: This is perfect for families with elders or little ones who want to skip the walking and bus-hopping.
Plus, you can choose between a standard 4-seater, 6-seater, or even a Premium 6-seater (think Alphards and Vellfires!) if you’re planning a big haul at Mid Valley Southkey!
Fixed Fares for Peace of Mind
No more haggling or worrying about the meter running in a traffic jam. The fares are fixed and shown upfront at the point of booking.
During the pilot phase, Grab is even offering an introductory discount of up to 20%—so it’s the perfect time to give it a try!
Returning to Singapore
Heading home? You can book your return trip via the Grab app too! Just note that for pick-ups in Malaysia, you’ll need to head to designated points like Toppen Shopping Centre, Mid Valley Southkey, Angsana Mall, or Larkin Sentral.
