One of the best places to visit in Malaysia is Genting Highlands. Perched on the Titiwangsa Mountains, a one-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur will lead you to the City of Entertainment that's packed with family-friendly hotels, boutique stores, Genting indoor theme park and other things to do in Genting Highlands!

While Genting Highland is temporarily closed due to the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Malaysia, we can't help but keep a close tab on the opening of Genting Highland's outdoor theme park, which originally carried the 20th Century Fox branding and themed attractions during the early stages of planning.

According to The Star, Genting Malaysia Berhad had announced that the outdoor theme park's opening will be postponed until the third quarter of 2021. Initially, it was scheduled to hold a soft opening end of this year.

In the article, Genting Group Berhad also shared that the theme park's development works came into a halt since the first phase of Movement Control Order (MCO) in Malaysia, which subsequently affected the timeline of the completion and opening of the theme park.

According to another article by the New Straits Times, Genting Highland's outdoor theme park will be called 'Genting SkyWorlds' and will feature 20 attraction rides including 4 thrilling rollercoasters.

It'll be another year-long wait for theme park fans in Malaysia, but great things come to those who wait. If you're planning to make a trip to the highlands once it's safe to travel again, you'll need this ultimate guide for your next Genting Highland getaway!
