Located right in the heart of one of Tokyo's major tourist hotspots (just a 2-minute walk from Asakusa subway!), Japanese Restaurant Origami hopes to give Muslims a safe food haven, amplifying their unique and authentic experience in Japan. ?

You can put your mind to rest as all the meats and materials (such as soy sauce, vinegar and miso) are certified halal. Some of the mouthwatering dishes you can look forward to are Chicken Sukiyaki Nabe, Beef Shabu Shabu, Japanese Black Beef Steak and more. They'll also be serving sushi, vegetarian dishes and kids meals. ?

As of July 15 2018, their halal certification is still pending. We've reached out to them and were told that they should be receiving the certification from Japan Muslim Association very soon!

*Do note that Halal certified restaurants in Japan also serve alcohol. Origami serves alcoholic beverages in dedicated cups and are stored separately.

Not only that, the chefs have mastered the guidelines of halal cooking through intensive training. With a diverse team working the floor, you'll be dining in a unique Japanese setting and savouring the yummiest cuisine from the Land of the Rising Sun confidently without any worries (and that's the best feeling ever)! ❤️

Opening on July 25th at 5.30pm, Origami is paving the way for more growth in Japan's Halal Tourism industry. Considering the rise in Muslim travellers in Japan over the years, let's hope more restaurants will jump on board too! ?
