- 1 loaf of milk bread (you can use store-bought ones or bake your own using this easy recipe)
- 1 cup assorted fruits (strawberries, blueberries, bananas; peeled and sliced crosswise)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tbsp honey, divided
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- ½ cup whipped cream
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Use parchment paper to line a baking sheet, then set aside.
- In a small bowl, toss the strawberries and blueberries with sugar and set aside along with the sliced bananas.
- Using a serrated knife, cut the bread loaf to about 5 inches long (unless your loaf is this size to begin with, then just cut the crust of one end) and store the rest away. Stand the piece of bread up and cut a square out of the centre of the loaf (make sure not to cut all the way through), leaving a ½ -inch border on all four sides and at the bottom of the crust. Pull the interior cube out and slice into 1-inch cubes.
- Place the loaf and bread cubes onto the baking sheet and brush them on all sides with butter. Bake them for about 15 minutes until they become golden brown.
- Remove the cubes to the bowl of fruits and let the loaf continue baking for another 10 more minutes.
- Gently toss the cubes with fruits. Then transfer the mixture into the hollowed out bread loaf and drizzle with honey.
- Top the toast with ice cream, whipped cream and garnish with any leftover fruits or other things like nuts, cookies, or candies as desired. Serve and enjoy!
