Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has announced a three-month delay to the highly anticipated launch of its newest cruise ship, Disney Adventure. Originally set to sail from Singapore on December 15, 2025, the cruise will now depart on March 10, 2026, due to delays in its shipbuilding process.
What Is the Disney Adventure?
The Disney Adventure is the brand’s first-ever cruise ship homeported in Asia, with Singapore as its launch point. Set to sail throughout the region for at least five years, it’s also Disney’s largest all-new ship to date — and promises a magical, all-inclusive vacation experience for Disney fans of all ages.
Who Is Affected?
The delay impacts all voyages scheduled between December 15, 2025, and March 12, 2026. Affected guests have been contacted directly via email by Disney Cruise Line.
Compensation Details:
- Guests booked on the original Dec 15 maiden voyage will be automatically rebooked onto the new March 10, 2026 sailing.
- They’ll also receive a 50% refund.
- If unable to sail on March 10, guests can opt for:
- A full refund
- Plus a 50% discount on a future sailing (valid until March 31, 2027)
- Other guests affected by cancelled voyages will receive a full refund and the option to rebook any cruise with a 50% discount within the same timeframe.
- Refund requests must be submitted by September 21, 2025.
Why the Delay?
According to Disney, Disney Adventure is “an ambitious transformation of a partially built ship into a Disney experience at sea.” The vessel was acquired from the now-defunct Genting Hong Kong in 2022 and has since been under construction in Wismar, Germany.
Sea trials began on September 1, 2025, but final preparations are taking longer than expected. The ship will have a capacity of 6,700 passengers, down from its original design for 9,000.
