It's no secret that Gardens by the Bay is one of Singapore's most popular attractions! Besides the stunning Supertree Groves and Cloud Forest, the gardens occasionally hold interesting installations. This time, you can look forward to the IG-worthy Dandelion installation at the Lawn which is only happening from 9-15 November 2020! The best part is that, it's free!

If you think that Dandelion is just another snapshot for the 'gram, you'd be fascinated to find out that there's more to it than meets the eye! Conceptualised by Japanese artist Ryotaro Muramatsu as part of a global initiative called the Breath / Bless Project, the interactive artwork allows you to send dandelion fluffs virtually to Japan!

All you have to do is scan a QR code, point your mobile phone at the sensor and the dandelion fluffs will scatter in style before it produces a new flower elsewhere. It will also interact in real-time with similar installations in multiple spots in Japan.

Here's one of the spots in Japan that'll virtually receive the dandelion from Singapore - Miyashita Park in Shibuya. Other spots include the Tokyo Tower too!

Even though we aren't able to travel to Japan now, it's amazing how this light installation can cross international borders and that's exactly what the artist intended - to promote connectivity in times of separation and distance ?
