Ahh roti john, a local favourite we often see (and can’t get enough of!) during Ramadan. There’s something so comforting about its simplicity and unassuming appearance – a fried sliced loaf of bread, topped with egg, diced onion and minced beef – that’s adored by many 😉 But it’s 2018 and we are in the market for something more adventurous. And what better way to keep good ol’ roti john interesting? By combining it with yet another favourite, the famous samyang korean spicy noodle 😌

A humble stall in Alor Setar, Kedah, keeps its business lively with imaginative dishes like this! Burger On Faaaiya (yes, that’s its name!) added this feisty dish with a twist and named it D-Blend Ramen John. Maybe it’s not much to look at, but as the age-old saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover 😉 So don’t turn away just yet. At least not until you get the best of these 2 hot favourites in one bite 🤤

The crispy fried bread is complemented by the melting cheese, minced beef omelette and a good dose of spicy noodles (plus sauce!). Popular and in demand amongst the locals, you can find this stall located right next to D’Futsal Titi Gajah in Kepala Batas.

But if you’re wondering how this business got its name, then give their signature dish a try. That’s right you’ve guessed it! Their samyang burger is a must-try 😍 They’ve even attracted tourists and foreigners to their modest outlet.
