Calling all Hello Kitty fans! Remember a few months ago when Hello Kitty bullet trains in Japan were all the craze? Sadly, you’ll only get a chance to sit on those trains if you’re travelling anywhere from Osaka to Fukuoka.

Well, guess what? You can now experience riding a Hello Kitty-themed train right in the heart of Tokyo! That’s thanks to the first ever subway trains covered entirely in Hello Kitty designs as part of a collaboration between railway operator Keio Corporation and the Sanrio Puroland theme park.

Starting this month (November 1, 2018), all the 10 carriages of several trains on the Keio and Toei Shinjuku line have completely been covered in pink designs with Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters like My Melody. This includes door stickers warning passengers not to rush into trains too! Looks like travelling just got a little more exciting 😉

What’s more, the trains have been launched to mark Hello Kitty’s birthday and increase the number of visitors to Sanrio Puroland in Tama, a suburb on the outskirts of Tokyo. In fact, the Tama Center Station has been decked in Hello Kitty designs since 2016, so that makes the perfect photo opportunity if you’re there 😜

The best part is, there’s been no news on when the Hello Kitty trains will stop running. So, if you’re planning a trip to Tokyo soon, you might just be able to catch these trains! And if you’re heading to Sanrio Puroland, don’t miss out on a special discounted ticket called the “Amusement Passport,” which combines the entrance ticket to the park with a day pass for the Keio and Inokashira railway lines. So, if you’re heading to Japan soon, be sure to add this train to your list!
