1. Company of Cats

Not only are their cats adorable, each one of them have their own roles too :P From the gorgeous Belle (Meowketing Director) to the youngest in the team, Daisy (intern), we bet you’ll be falling for all of these cats in no time.

2. Penny University

In case you’re wondering about Penny University’s name (or Penny U for short), it’s actually inspired by English coffeehouses back in the 17^th – 18^th centuries. The cafe, with its rustic decor and laidback atmosphere, is a cosy spot for an afternoon get together. [caption id="attachment_6733" align="alignnone" width="1000"]

Can't go wrong with a latte at Penny U.[/caption] And it’s safe to say that the coffee at Penny University is worth every single penny. They take their coffee very seriously and if you're a coffee lover, this cafe is definitely the perfect spot to grab your cuppa. Don't forget to try their signature muddy espresso, which is a reverse latte, with the espresso shot added after the milk. Strong and smooth, we wish we could have a cup right now! You can choose from their wide selection of cakes (they recently added waffles too!) including the ever-popular Honey Almond Cake, avocado cheesecake, and more! The Honey Almond Cake was not overly sweet and it went really really well with our coffee.

3. The Bravery

You just can’t get any more hipster than The Bravery café. We’re talking about a shop front with absolutely no signage and no indication of where the door even is! (Hint: Go for the gold.)

With it's quirky and minimalistic deco, it's definitely an interesting escape from your bustling city. That coupled with good food and drinks, you've definitely found your next cafe to visit! Brave Begedil[/caption] When you have a dish called the Brave Begedil, we will definitely be the ones to try it. Homemade begedil served with perfectly poached eggs, avocado and... turkey bacon! They sure know the way to our hearts. The begedil and turkey bacon were both really crispy and we just could get enough of the begedil. [caption id="attachment_6739" align="alignnone" width="1000"]

Holy Crab[/caption] We also tried the seemingly normal Holy Crab, which was anything but! Crab cakes served with a poached egg, hollandaise sauce and sauteed mushrooms. YUM! Pancake Stack[/caption] No meal is complete without trying some drinks right? We love their signature lavender latte, with just a tinge of lavender fragrance coupled with a smooth latte. And if you're feeling something tangy, you have to try their raspberry tonic!

4. &why...

The sister cafe of I am... couldn't be more different, in a good way! We just love &why… for it’s laidback Brooklyn vibe, from the atmosphere of the café (they play some really good music) to the staff’s dress code, this café is just perfect for a chill afternoon out. Mademoiselle and Elder Mint Tea[/caption] Not only do their drinks look really pretty, they actually taste amazing too! The Elder Mint Tea (right) has a tinge of elderflower and a calming cucumber base while the Mademoiselle (left) is very refreshing with a watermelon base and dash of lemonade! P.S. The flowers in the drinks are edible too!

If you love spice, don't forget to try their nachos and cheesesteak. You may not be expecting it, but the jalapeños in the cheesesteak sure packs a punch! And if you're looking for something tender and herb-y, the rosemary chicken is the dish for you. It's absolutely fragrant, tender and juicy and just tastes so good. We finished every single bit :P

5. The Lab

Last but not least, we have The Lab! We simply can’t seem to rave over this cafe enough. Other than their amazing burgers, The Lab also made it to our list of themed cafes, quite simply because of their experimental theme and fun drinks! Drinks in flasks and served with syringes![/caption] If you're one for mixed fruit juices and playing with your drinks, The Lab will amaze you with their variety of mocktails, coffee and fruit juices in huge jars, that change weekly! Their caramel macchiato was surprisingly not too sweet and the Heisenberg, is definitely an eye-catcher with bright blue syrup in the syringe. Don't worry, this drink isn't overly sweet either, and it's perfect if you're looking for a sparkling refreshing drink!
