SteamHaus SG

It’s full steam ahead at SteamHaus SG, where you can expect the humble mantou (Chinese steamed buns) to be the star of every lipsmacking dish 😋

Savoury bao selections that you can expect at the Night Fest include their Chilli Crab Stew with Fried Mantou and Serunding and Lemak Cili Padi Bao.

1. Chilli Crab Stew with Fried Mantou

This Chilli Crab Stew is certainly a genius way of incorporating the flavours of the quintessentially Singapore dish. Best part, you don’t have to deal with the mess that comes with deshelling crab. Served with fried mantou, the stew features chunks of crab meat, and garnished with a beautiful sous vide egg!

2. Serunding and Lemak Cili Padi Bao

Serunding is the Malays’ version of pulled beef floss, and is typically eaten with other festive dishes and ketupat (soft rice cakes). SteamHaus SG’s bao remix features its homemade serunding, a splash of lemak cili padi sauce and spring onion- all sandwiched between soft, steamed buns 😍

3. Ondeh-ondeh Ice Cream Bao

If you aren’t a fan of spicy food, don’t fret! You can still enjoy SteamHaus’ bao masterpiece in the form of its Ondeh-ondeh Ice Cream Bao, which consists of rich, coconut ice cream drizzled with gula melaka syrup- just like the decadent Malay kueh that inspired this amazing creation 😌

6. The Lab’s Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich

A hot favourite at their cafe makes its appearance at its Night Fest menu! When you bite into The Lab’s Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, be careful that you don’t make a mess of yourself as the juicy beef slices are stacked with a heap of caramelized onions, green relish and oozing with cheddar cheese 😆
