If you need to step out after staying at home for a long period of time, there are many jogging tracks in Kuala Lumpur (KL) and Selangor that are perfect for morning or evening runs. Just choose one of these jogging trails and get moving!

Movement Control Order (MCO) in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor

In May 2021, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has implemented the Movement Control Order (MCO) in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor from 12 May - 7 June 2021 to curb the rise of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. During these times, you're allowed to take part in a non-contact individual sport such as jogging, cycling and exercising but advised to practice a one-meter physical distance from others in public places. Do note that inter district travel is also temporarily banned and you're only allowed to travel within your district. For example, if you're residing in Selangor, you're not allowed to travel to Kuala Lumpur until the ban is lifted.

1. Taman Tasik Shah Alam

There's a reason why Taman Tasik Shah Alam has one of the best jogging trails in Selangor. While sweating it out, you get to admire a gorgeous lake complete with locals kayaking with their loved ones. You can also catch a view of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque, the famous state mosque in Selangor.

Besides exploring the running trails at Taman Tasik Shah Alam, make sure to check out the nearby canopy walk or take your kid to the playground. This park is also connected to two other lake gardens named Permai Recreational Park and Raja Lumu Recreational Park.

Opening hours: Opens daily; 24 hours

Address: Permai Recreational Park, Pesiaran Tasek, Seksyen 14, 40000 Shah Alam, Selangor

2. Perdana Lake, Cyberjaya

Another popular jogging track in Selangor that's worth visiting is Perdana Lake in Cyberjaya. Aside from seeing the locals cycling around the lake, it has a famous sunrise point that is great for early risers and morning joggers.

Not to worry, Perdana Lake is also awesome for evening runs and the park is well-lit till sunset. The park can get crowded, especially on weekends, but the well-maintained path is spacious enough to practise social distancing.

Opening hours: Open daily; 24 hours

Address: Persiaran Tasik, Cyberjaya, 63000 Cyberjaya, Selangor

3. KLCC Park, Kuala Lumpur

KLCC Park may be a popular picnic spot in Kuala Lumpur, but it also has an awesome jogging track that is ideal for active city folks. The park has many trees to provide ample shade and there's something absolutely majestic about seeing the world's tallest twin towers, the Petronas Twin Towers looming over you.

If you prefer an evening jog at KLCC Park, make sure to catch the spectacular KLCC Lake Symphony Light and Sound Water Fountain that happens at 8PM, 9PM and 10PM daily. Don't worry if you missed it! There's also KLCC Lake Symphony Water Fountain (just the lights!) and it happens at 7.30PM, 8.30PM and 9.30PM daily.

Opening hours: Open daily; 7AM-10PM

Address: Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

4. Taman Saujana Hijau, Putrajaya

There are many things to see at Taman Saujana Hijau, including families enjoying a picnic and kids cycling around the garden. Surrounded by pine trees and rolling hills, this is one of the most scenic jogging spots in Kuala Lumpur. This garden is sectioned into European Garden, Oriental Garden and English Garden - and we heard the English Garden is the loveliest of all.

Besides that, the paths are pretty wide too, so you can practice physical distancing when you're jogging around the garden. The length of the jogging track at Taman Saujana Hijau is approximately 3KM and there's nothing quite like the experience of running with a view.

Opening hours: Open daily; 7AM-7PM

Address: Jalan P11, Presint 11, 62000 Putrajaya, Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya

5. Titiwangsa Lake Garden, Kuala Lumpur

Free up your evening and make your way to one of the best jogging spots in Kuala Lumpur, Titiwangsa Lake Garden. True to its name, the vast lake is one of its main attractions where you can find many joggers exercising while soaking up the view in the mornings and evenings.

After a series of renovation, it now has a mini water park and floating bridge where the kids can explore for some splashing fun - and we recommend bookmarking these attractions until MCO ends. To make the most of your visit, you're welcome to go cycling and brisk walking around the garden.

Opening hours: Open daily; 7AM-7PM

Address: Tasik Titiwangsa, 53200 Kuala Lumpur

6. Taman Tasik Kota Kemuning

One of the best ways to experience Taman Tasik Kota Kemuning is by going for a morning or evening jog around the lake. Complete with a jogging track, join the locals and take a break from city life.

Opening hours: Open daily, 24 hours

Address: Kota Kemuning, 40460 Shah Alam, Selangor

7. Taman Wawasan Recreational Park

If you've been thinking of stepping out for a solo run, make your way to Taman Wawasan Recreational Park. Suitable for a jog and relaxing stroll, we recommend coming early as parking space is limited.

Opening hours: Open daily, 24 hours

Address: Persiaran Wawasan, Taman Wawasan, 47100 Puchong, Selangor

If you're planning to go for a quick run, we hope you'll explore one of these awesome jogging tracks in KL and Selangor! When you're out and about, be sure to practice physical distancing at all times and put on your face mask once you're done working out.
