With several spots around Korea being home to great, gorgeous autumn foliage, you'll have an absolute wonderful time exploring Korea on your future trip
To make things easier for your future Korean itinerary, here are my recommendations for every spot that you can visit especially once the world opens to travel again!
5 Spots To Catch Autumn Trees In Korea
Asan Ginkgo Tree Road
The whole long road turns gold when the Ginkgo trees turn yellow during autumn. This is one of the hottest local spots this year. It is located in a city called Asan in Chungnam Province.
Although situated away from Seoul, you can easily reach it by taking Seoul's Subway for about 2.5 hours! It might sound like a very long ride, but I promise it is worth your time.
How to get there:
Take Subway Line 1 to Onyang Oncheon Station (온양온천역), then get on Bus 970 or 971 and stop at Chungnam Kyeongjae Jin heung won (충남경제진흥원)
Nami Island
Everyone who comes to Korea knows about this romantic island. Nami island is the spot for autumn foliage in South Korea. Located in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province this place is easy to access with public transportation from Seoul city!

How to get there:
Take the Intercity Train eXpress (ITX) at Yongsan station to Gapyeong Station.
Then, take bus no 10 and after 4 stops, drop off at Nami Island Wharf.
Apsan Observatory
Anyone familiar with the drama “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” might recognised this place. Apsan is a mountain in Daegu that offers a spectacular view of Daegu city from above.
During autumn, the whole scene somehow turns into a magical land. The view from the cable car to the peak of Apsan is very enchanting. On the peak lies an observatory deck and a cafe. If you’re wondering what to do in Daegu, this is a good place to consider!
How to get there:
Take the Daegu Subway line 1 from Dongdaegu station to Yongdae Hospital station. Then hop onto Bus no Namgu 1-1 which stops at Apsan Park office (앞산공원관리사무소앞)
Alternatively, you can take the Daegu City Tour for an easier ride!
UNESCO Hahoe Folk Village
Hahoe Folk Village is located in Andong, in Korea's North Gyeongsang Province. During autumn, lines of Ginko trees along the entrance to the village turn vivid and beautiful. The folk village is very big, too. Not only is it a folk village, but in the area, you can check out the world mask museum, watch the mask theatre show and experience a traditional parade.
Also, this is the best place to catch a bird's eye view of Mount Namsan. Just head up to the peak by a short hike (15 minutes) at the Buyongdae Cliff in the village.
How to get there:
Take Korea's KTX High Speed Train to Andong Station. The , get on bus no 246 to Hahoe Folk Village
Hwadam Botanic Garden
Another hot spot near Seoul, many Seoulites tend to come here during the weekend. Especially during the peak of autumn. Hwadamsup in Korea's Gyeonggi Province is a botanical garden located inside ski resort Gonjiam.
Although you might need to prepare for a lot of walking at this hilly garden, you'll get to take an exciting chairlift to the entrance just before arriving! This boardwalk is filled with gorgeous sights of autumn foliage, something you don't see everyday in the tropics!
How to get there:
Take Seoul's Subway to Gonjiam station, then a taxi to Gonjiam resort for about 10 mins.
