Say hello to Asumo, a Japanese-owned yakiniku that's serving mouthwatering halal charcoal-grilled Japanese wagyu! Located in SS15 Subang Jaya, Asumo has a whole halal-certified wagyu cattle shipped all the way from Miyazaki and Tokushima prefectures in Japan, and a seasoned Japanese master butcher awaits them in Kuala Lumpur. This virtuoso with a decade's worth of experience carves that marbled goodness into specific cuts for your table, like an artist creating a masterpiece.

So, wondering what they have on the menu? Everything, I mean EVERYTHING, at Asumo is imported directly from Japan, from the tantalising wagyu to the plates, uniforms, barbecues, and even the exhaust system! They don't mess around when it comes to authenticity!

Psst... if you're wondering, the owner has assured us that the wagyu here is halal-certified by Jakim!

The yakiniku-style restaurant is perfect for a shared meal. You can bond over cooking succulent meat, which has been expertly cut into bite-sized pieces by the chef. Then, you get to grill it to perfection right at your table on a sizzling charcoal grill. And the fun doesn't stop there - oh no! Dip those juicy pieces into a mesmerising array of special sauces before taking that heavenly bite. We loved the spring onion soy sauce and the spicy leek sauce - perfect condiments for the beef!

The menu boasts the star of the show - the Asumo Wagyu Omakase Platter. Brace yourselves for 10 different heavenly cuts of the finest Japanese beef, accompanied by tags introducing each cut, and an ensemble of sauces and salts to elevate the experience. But hey, the delights don't end there! Karubi (rib eye) and gyūtan (tongue) tasting plates beckon you, along with namul (pickles), sushi, ramen, and yakitori to complete the feast.

If you find yourself craving Japanese food during lunch or you prefer to have individual serving, Asumo also offers lunch sets! There are charcoal grilled yakiniku sets where you can choose to have either Australian beef or Japanese wagyu sets (or you can have both!). There's also the Tempura and Fish set such as salmon, sashimi, beef udon, prawn tempura set and vegetable tempura set.

The name "Asumo" itself is steeped in Japanese wisdom, translating to "tomorrow, again" - a clear hint that once you've had a taste of their sensational fare, you'll be back for more, again and again. The experience they've crafted is beyond compare, from the stunning Japanese design that'll transport you straight to Tokyo's elite Nihonbashi district, to the lighting and crockery, all aimed to heighten your culinary enjoyment.

Picture yourself in this four-storey wonderland, with 22 private rooms on the first and second floors - but wait, there's more! Future plans include expanding to accommodate twice that number! Oh, and they've got your back with free valet parking because let's face it, finding parking in this bustling neighbourhood can be a challenge during dinner rush hours. We find this a plus cos we all know parking in SS15 can be a nightmare!

Be sure to enjoy the restaurant's opening promotion. From just RM100 per person, you'll be treated to 100g of tantalising yakiniku beef alongside eight delectable side dishes. Trust me; it's a deal you won't want to miss!

Halal status: Halal-certified Wagyu and ingredients are from halal-certified suppliers. Do note that the restaurant serves alcohol. We recommend you dine at your own discretion.
