What Is Around Cafe?

Around is a minimalistic cafe that just opened on 23 June at the Alp Residences in Tampines. It is the second outlet of the cafe, with the first located in Ang Mo Kio. With its high glass walls covering the ceiling to floor exterior greeting you before you even step in, it's a perfect cafe to snap some pictures, along with getting the cafe's menu of dessert and drinks. This includes ice cream, waffles, acai bowls, cakes, mocktails, bubble tea and more. Their ice cream flavours include Nutella, cereal milk, white chocolate and matcha, going at $4.20 for a single scoop, and $8 for double scoop. Their waffle and ice cream set ranges from $11.90 to $14.90.
Is Around cafe halal?

We have checked with the team at Around, and all their menu items are made with ingredients that do NOT consist of pork, lard, gelatin or alcohol. However, we are unable to verify any ingredients used in the menu such as vanilla extract, natural vanilla, and natural vanilla flavour, which are not suitable for Muslims as they are prepared by soaking vanilla pods in alcohol and water. You may read more about the ingredients used in ice cream. The cafe is also not halal-certified, thus we advise that you dine at your own discretion. We're seriously hoping that the cafe becomes halal-certified in the future, and it turns out they just might!
